At Toronto Student Lets we take your privacy seriously. This privacy policy sets out how Toronto Student Lets holds and processes the information that we hold about you. We process personal information about our tenants, and potential new tenants so we can provide residential accommodation. We will only use this information to administer your account and to provide any services that you have requested from us. We will never sell your data and promise to keep your details secure.

BEFORE THE LET

• taking personal details such as phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, guarantor addresses and utility bill checks.

DURING THE LET

• Administering the tenancy deposit
• Collecting rent
• Maintaining our records and accounts
• Managing the property
• Managing council tax

AFTER THE LET

• Supplying references
• Debt chasing
• We may keep some information on computer/files

Data Protection

We may need to share personal we process with others. If we have to do this, we will keep to data- protection legislation.

• Employers
• Other Landlords
• Tenancy deposit schemes
• Debt collection and tracing agencies
• Public and government bodies i.e. council and emergency services
• Letting and management agencies.

This does not mean that we share information with all of the above but we may do so if we need to

COUNCIL TAX

We share information with the local authority to ensure that council tax is correctly collected.

We mainly use the personal information for managing the property and if necessary debt collection

You have the right to have a copy of the information that we hold on you. We need to keep this information up to date. You may ask us to correct or remove information if this is not accurate. Please get in touch to do so.
